John P. McDonough, Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of Meridian Investments, is a graduate of Boston College (BS, Business Administration and Accounting, 1976, Cum Laude). Prior to joining Meridian, Mr. McDonough worked with a private merchant bank. From 1976 to 1983 he served in the audit area with Ernst & Young (formerly Ernst & Whinney). Mr. McDonough provides the strategic objectives and guidance for the sales and marketing group of Meridian Investments, making sure that current implementation coincides with the Company’s long-range strategic plan. Additionally, he represents the company when interacting with FINRA and SEC in regulatory matters. Mr. McDonough is based in Meridian’s Boston, MA office.
Jeremiah J. McDermott, President of Meridian Investments, is a graduate of Boston College (BA Economics, 1991). Mr. McDermott directs the Company’s sales and marketing group, providing strategic objectives and guidance. He is also responsible for developing new business. Prior to joining the Meridian Companies, Mr. McDermott was a broker for a national brokerage institution. Mr. McDermott is based in our Washington, DC office, and covers the region including Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Connecticut, and Ohio.
Kevin V. Murphy, Principal and Executive Vice President of Meridian Investments, is a graduate of Boston College (BS Business Administration, 1968), Suffolk University Law School (JD, 1975) and Boston University Law School Graduate Tax Program (LLM 1979). Mr. Murphy was admitted as a member of the Massachusetts Bar in 1975. Prior to joining Meridian in 1983, Mr. Murphy served as a Captain in the U.S. Army, held an appointment with the US Treasury, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and served as Tax Counsel and In-House Counsel for several international corporations. Mr. Murphy is based in our Boston, MA office and is responsible for business development and placement of tax credit equity. His region includes the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Montana, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, Utah and Wyoming. Mr. Murphy is also a retired Colonel in the US Army Reserves and commanded the first USAR unit to be deployed to the Persian Gulf during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
Edward F. Morgan, Senior Vice President of Meridian Investments, is a graduate of Boston College. Prior to joining Meridian in 1986, Mr. Morgan was a Vice President with Hambrecht & Quist, in the areas of individual and corporate investment sales. Mr. Morgan is a National Accounts Relationship Manager for Fannie Mae, J.P. Morgan-Chase, Citibank and other money center banks. Mr. Morgan is assisted by Sales Assistant Matt Hodges. Mr. Morgan is based in our Boston, MA office.
Roman Brilman, Vice President Product Development of Meridian Investments, is a graduate of Boston College (MBA 2007) and the University of Buffalo (BS in Finance, 1996). Prior to joining Meridian, Mr. Brilman was a Senior Financial Analyst at Boston Capital Corporation. He was responsible for structuring investment portfolios for corporate tax credit investors in low-income housing partnerships and alternative energy transactions. Prior to Boston Capital, Mr. Brilman had a successful career as a Financial Consultant specializing in Estate and Tax planning at a top tier investment house and a national bank. At Meridian, Mr. Brilman is responsible for business and financial modeling and analysis, maintaining existing investor relationships, and assisting with new business development. He functions as a technical liaison with the Meridian sales team and is based in Meridian’s Boston, MA office.
Matthew Hodges, Vice President of Meridian Investments, is a graduate of the State University of New York College at Oneonta (BA Economics). Prior to joining Meridian, Matt was a broker with Banc of America Investment Services, Inc., where he provided expertise in the areas of initial public offerings, bond portfolios and asset management services. Prior to Banc of America, Mr. Hodges worked as a financial analyst for Bigdough.com. Matt is a sales associate working with Jerry McDermott and Jack Casey in our Washington office. Mr. Hodges holds the NASD Series 7, 63, and 66 licenses.
Raymond Wolff, Vice President of Meridian Investments, is a graduate of The New England College Of Finance. He is responsible for establishing, maintaining and strengthening relationships with Fortune 1000 institutional entities. Mr. Wolff works with Executive Vice President Kevin Murphy in our Boston office. Prior to joining Meridian, Ray worked for Guardian Investor Services, LLC, where he was part of the wholesaling team for their equity investments. Mr. Wolff holds the NASD Series 7, 26, 63 and 66 licenses.
